Audit Readiness Support / Junior Audit Accountant

Location: Washington, DC
Education and Experience Required:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in business or an applicable field and up to three (3) years of relevant experience in finance and/or accounting.

Clearance Required:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Current CI Polygraph desired.

Background:
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Audit Accountant with technical writing experience to support FAC/OHR audit readiness requirements. Candidates should have a background in support of accounting, be familiar with financial statement audits, and have previous hand-on experience providing 'audit readiness' services with direct interaction with IT controls - ideally within the DoD or IC due to complex processes and unique environmental variables. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
  • Every other week, prepare reports on the status of Notices of Finding and Recommendations (NFRs) as well as Corrective Action Plans (CAPs)
  • Work with the Deployment Program Manager to develop reports, compile and post quarterly reports for posting Post Differential and Danger Pay accrual amounts to the DIA pay journals contained in CFO-2C. Must maintain on a monthly basis.
  • Work with the PCS Manager (OHR-5) to develop reports, compile and post quarterly reports for posting Leave Quarters Allowance (LQA) amounts to the DIA pay journals managed by CFO-2C.  Must maintain on a monthly basis
  • Support OHR in production of a quarterly report from myHR and other financial records to develop a Leave Quarters Allowance spreadsheet
  • Support OHR in production of Produce a quarterly report from myHR and other deployment records to develop a Post Differential and Danger Pay spreadsheet
  • Support compilation of information based on remediation of corrective actions for NFRs and CAPS and submit reports every other week
  • Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, certification, and the controlling of technical documents
  • Responsible for developing illustrations for revising and formatting technical documents
Job Requirements:
The right candidate will possess:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Technical writing background in support of accounting and be familiar with financial statement audits and previously provided 'audit readiness' services, ideally within the DoD or IC space due to the associated complex processes and unique environmental variables that impact the approaches and results
  • Property, plant, and equipment experience
  • Experience applying OMB A-123, SFFAS, and FFMIA
  • Accounting experience in creating process improvement plans for audit readiness
  • Understanding of the IT controls within the audit environment
  • Hands on experience with identifying, evaluating and developing  internal controls and process improvement
