VOIP Engineer

Clearance Required: Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active TS/SCI clearance granted by the Department of Defense or an Intelligence Community agency. Must have an active Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).

A Federal Customer delivers enterprise information technology (EIT) services to an extended, global environment supporting the organization’s most important collection, analysis, processing, and dissemination missions. This customer seeks to decrease complexity of service delivery, increase agility to adapt to evolving mission needs, minimize entanglements among service providers, and improve EIT reliability and availability. To deliver this goal, ACS is supporting a migration of all sites to a managed service approach, delivering effective and efficient support worldwide while maintaining centralized visibility and control. We are supporting the implementation of an integrated delivery and monitoring approach to effectively support these distributed sites.
 
We are seeking a highly motivated VoIP Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Provide engineering expertise to analyze hardware systems, hardware design, architecture, and network design
  • Procure and perform acceptance testing on equipment
  • Prepare specifications for hardware by analyzing documented and derived system requirements
  • Conduct site surveys
  • Prepare engineering plans and site Technical Design Packages
  • Configure (and document configuration of) computers, networking devices, and various peripheral equipment
  • Prepare site installations and test reports
  • Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the user’s requirements
  • Design, develop, and manage the client's Voice-Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) service
  • Assist in the implementation and troubleshooting of VoIP and telephony requirements of remote customer offices, campus buildings, and data centers and define equipment and configurations needed to upgrade buildings and sites to established standard 
  • Continually review the customer's VoIP network and practices looking for opportunities to enhance network functionality, performance, and reliability
  • Assist in the evaluation of potential VoIP or telephony products and technical solutions
  • Contribute to the development of documentation, including diagrams, standards, specifications and operating procedures
  • Monitor for opportunities to enhance the customer network/system performance and reliability
  • Perform on-going management of network installation and upgrade projects and maintain deployment schedules
  • Provide guidance to team members in the field and provide status metrics to Government customer and management for SLAs
  • Provide third-level support and troubleshooting of Telephony problems
  • Periodically provide after-hours and weekend support

Education Qualifications:
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) years of additional engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
