Senior Information Systems Security Officer

Education and Experience Required:
Requires Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science) or equivalent, and 5-7 of related work experience. A Bachelor's degree can be replaced with a high school diploma and 11-13 years experience.

Clearance Required:
Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess a current and active Top Secret.

A Federal Services information technology (IT) customer requires support of the enterprise IT environment including Information Security.  Under this contract, Assured Consulting Solutions provides direct assistance to the customer in IT services ranging from process engineering to systems administration with a core focus on customer engagement and satisfaction resulting in expedited throughput and deployment of mission based assets and services. Other areas of support and interfacing include: storage engineering, hardware support and maintenance, applications maintenance, network operations, service catalog support, configuration management support, and enterprise architecture support.

As the Information Systems Security Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining the Cyber Security posture with the existing information system located in Washington, DC, ensuring operational security is maintained in the secure environment with a small team of IT and Cyber Security professionals.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
·   Perform Continuous Monitoring 
·   Ensure systems are operated, maintained and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the security authorization package
·   Attend required technical and security training (operating system, networking and security management) relative to assigned duties
·   Maintain required Cyber Security certifications
·   Ensure all users have the requisite security clearances, authorization, need-to-know, and are aware of their security responsibilities before granting access to the information system
·   Report all security-related incidents to the ISSM
·   Ensuring that system security requirements are addressed during all phases of the system life cycle
·   Following procedures developed by the ISSM, authorizing software, hardware, and firmware use before implementation on the system
·   Formally notify the ISSM and Authorizing Official when a system no longer processes intelligence or Special Access Program (SAP) information
·   Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with security authorization package
·   Coordinate any changes or modifications to hardware, software or firmware of a system with the ISSM and AO/DAO prior to the change
·   Formally notify the ISSM and AO/DAO when changes occur that might affect system authorization
·   Monitor system recovery processes to ensure security features and procedures are properly restored and functioning
Job Requirements:
·     DoD 8140/8570 certification for IAT Level II and IAM Level 1
·     Risk Management Framework experience a plus
·     Microsoft and VMware certifications a plus
·     Willing to Travel up to 10%
